About Us

After graduating from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor in Business Administration, Dwain Sammons started Sammons Insurance Agency as a Cotton States Agent in Macon, Georgia in 1986.

 

In 2001, he assumed the agency of retired Cotton States agent, David Smith, in Sandersville, Georgia. Dwain was a repeat top performer for Cotton States and has kept that streak going with his independent agency companies that include Auto-Owners and Encompass.

 

Even though Dwain only played for one season under coach Erk Russell in college, one thing stuck with him. The only thing you really need to remember to be successful is “To Do Right.”

 

Accolades

Sammons Insurance Agency was voted one of Auto-Owners Insurance Company’s Top 10 P&C Production Leaders in Premium Growth in 2008.

 

The agency was also voted “Simply the Best” by the readers of The Sandersville Progress in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2014, and 2022.

In 2002 and 2005 we were awarded the Cotton States President's Trophy for the top Cotton States agent.

 

Sammons Insurance has also been honored for volunteerism by Encompass and is a charter agency with Encompass.
